  4. I think you are under the misconception that aieirnls like American Airlines own their own regional aircraft they do not, their partner carrier, American Eagle, is an entirely different company. They fly the short routes with little planes and American Airlines flies the big planes Most pilots start out with a regional airline and gain experience When you are ready to get a job, you must make sure you meet the minimum requirements such as 1000 hours and Commercial, IFR, and Multi ratings . then you apply If you are hired you will be sent to training and then assigned a first officers position, after a few years you will be upgraded to captain
